Why make your own album
Every album I make goes into a playlist I keep called Conversations with Mom. She has told me stories about my dad, about the two of them getting married, about growing up, about the heartaches between her and me and the way we always found our way back. I turned those conversations into songs. Now there is a history of my family in music, a remembrance of my mom and my dad, and of who she is to me as a person. It plays in the car. It plays when I miss them.
I did the same with my book. The Dash Between the Dates became a whole album, so now the record matches the pages.
